Mavericks Defeat Warriors in High-Scoring Game, Doncic, Irving, and Thompson Combine for 95 Points
In a thrilling offensive battle, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Golden State Warriors, with Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson combining for 95 points—a new high for the trio in their partnership. The Mavericks scored 143 points as a team, making it clear this was an all-out offensive showdown. Together, the Mavericks and Warriors hit a total of 47 three-pointers, setting a new NBA record.
Klay Thompson had a career-high performance against the Mavericks, playing 29 minutes and shooting 9-of-14 from the field, including 7-of-11 from three, finishing with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. His shooting accuracy was 64.3%, with a 63.6% three-point shooting rate. In the fourth quarter, Klay was on fire, making all 3 of his three-point attempts and 4-of-5 free throws, scoring 13 points. His signature "tongue-out" celebration added a bit of flair to the moment.
After the game, Klay embraced his former Warriors teammates and coaching staff, taking a moment to walk around the Chase Center. He looked incredibly happy, bouncing around with joy. As Klay was heading toward the player tunnel, many fans wearing his Warriors No. 11 jersey, holding up posters and photos, cheered for him. Klay expressed his gratitude afterward, saying he was touched by the support from the fans.
Steph Curry also praised Klay after the game: “He hit some huge threes in key moments. What’s that? Klay is about to pass Reggie Miller and move up to fifth in all-time three-pointers? I remember when I passed Miller three years ago, he was still second—now he’s dropped to fifth?”
With this performance, Klay Thompson now has 2,549 career three-pointers, just 11 behind Reggie Miller, who sits in fifth place with 2,560. The Splash Brothers remain the most prolific three-point shooting duo in NBA history.
After the game, Klay also commented on Doncic's 45-point triple-double: “This guy keeps surprising me. He never rushes, plays at his own pace. Anyone who’s played in this league knows how good he is. There are only a handful of players in the history of this sport who can do what he does, so it’s an honor to play alongside him.”
