Greetings lovely Felines and Hoomans of Steemlandia!

I hope this weekend is treating you well! I'm afraid we almost missed Caturday because... well, things have been busy around here.

What's happening?

The Hoomans are getting ready for that thing they call "Christmas," which means they are putting up lights in the trees and bushes outside... and up on the house.

It's not that interesting to look at, but it keeps drawing me to the windows. Eventually, I decided I'd better just nap through it all!

I like hiding in my fuzzy blanket!

Meanwhile, our new household member Smudge is slowly warming up to the idea of living here.

We all realize the adjustment to a new home is difficult when you're older — she's 14 — so we are taking planty of time to allow her to do her ting, and at her pace.

We've come nose-to-nose a few times, and often site close to each other with the safety of the "kitty gate" between us.

Meeting across the threshold, without the kitty gate...

Mostly, Smudge is still a bit wary, but we're getting closer and there's not really any hissing or nasty sounds!

I'm sure the friendship will eventually happen!
