Greetings the fellow people of Steemit and the WOX community! Long time no see i guess.
Last couple of months I’ve been very busy with work and travel work also and today I realised i have sorted so many photos of my travels i felt like they never gonna end so today with the little time i have i would like to share with you a stroll through the second biggest city in Switzerland - Basel.
Where Switzerland Meets Its Neighbours |
---|
For the record this stroll is gonna be filled with random moments with expected photography skills so some photos will have more juice in them than others.
So we’re gonna start with the Swiss part then we gonna move to the French part then we gonna move to the Swiss part again. This is gonna be a chronological stroll of a couple consecutive days.
Basel is basically a city that is spread on 3 parts Swiss,French and German part and it’s very unusually structured, because you can definitely feel the parts more like districts than cultural parts like a video game or sort. It’s very beautiful and chill but it definitely feels very hollow, because the rumours are true - Switzerland is as boring as it’s beautiful.
The photos you’ve seen are basically in the middle of Basel right before a bridge you’ll see in a couple of seconds which leads to the french part of the city, but right before it its probably the most beautiful part of it. Now we gonna take a walk on the bridge and then we gonna walk by the river.
Oh by the way the huge boat you gonna see on the first photo is basically a tourist boat that roams around the river and literally drifts in the water. Unfortunately I didn’t hop on it, but i have some photos from a boat which I’m gonna include in a different post so no worries.
Yeah it’s nice, but it’s kinda unusual, because the whole part of this river is basically a chill zone for people. You can see people swimming, rowing, smoking, reading, drinking all sorts of normal activities a normal person does and it’s sorta crowded, but it’s very chill at the same time.
Just gonna share with you some more late night walks through the city and we will hop onto the next chapter of the post.
This part is gonna be a cityscape part where i roam around the hills or what should i call it the high ground of the city which of course is in the rich neighbourhoods and to be honest i was left with very nice reward at the end, because i managed to get an amazing view on the top.
You know at first glance it all looks very tidy and lined for a person like me, because i come from Eastern Europe and after a couple of days you don’t notice it, but after a while it becomes too tidy I can’t explain it hehe. Anyway here’s the views and just to point out some of the photos might be shot on long exposure mode, so if you are watching from a laptop sorry. 😄
Yeah nice right? That’s what i call a nice Swiss cityscape view let’s get down from it and explore more onto the next chapter.
So we are in the part of the post where i have to share with you the usual crowded place with the long walk with all the people in it. Yeah it’s the downtown of the downtown and it’s mixed in a very interesting way with modern and old buildings and it might look very crowded, but it doesn’t feel hectic it’s like nobody is rushing, but just wandering around exploring like i do.
Okay fellas we’ve reached the last part of the post which is gonna be totally uninformative on this post, because i have some more photos to share with you on another post and since i basically have exhausted your eyes with so much source material I’m gonna let them rest. I was wondering if this post should be called the cathedral because i found it just by exploring the city itself but it was so peaceful there i had to think of something more original.
So this cathedral is called Basel Minster that’s the only thing I’m gonna know for now in this post for now but no worries you will have the knowledge sooner than later. The reason i do this is because these photos are like a year old and this year i went there again and I’m gonna come up with some more info in the next post. So just enjoy the photos for now
I stumbled upon it so randomly, because i wanted to have a view of the river and see the whole part of the centre of Basel and on my way there i found this amazing structure. It was so peaceful there and you will see why and no it’s not the cathedral but the surroundings of it.
Yeah i guess you see what i mean it was located in such a serene park i felt the presence of the lone breeze i cant explain it it was so chill and next to the cathedral is the view i was looking for. Remember the cover photo of the post i started? Yeah that’s the view, but some of you know me well enough I sometimes end with the photos i start with. Hehe
So here’s the end of the post fellas i hope I didn’t take much of your time. I know I didn’t talk much about Basel, but there isn’t much to talk about really it might be very beautiful but very hollow, the people there are not cold and sorta lame like the germans they at least have some humour, but are strange in their own way its like they are not very social and live in their own balloon and it’s like the time there is moving but stopped outside the world. It’s hard to explain. No worries i have much more material to share with you in fact I’m gonna leave some accents for you to enjoy so see ya! 😄
