Hello everyone, am glad to participate in this week contest on the basic knowledge in agriculture. You're welcome, Stay tune!
Briefly explain 3 causes of early crop growth damage.
Many things can cause early crop growth damage, fee among them are;
Pests : It's sadden that crops are mostly damage by pest such as the rodent, insects, and other like animals. By destroying the crops, a farmer will be at a great lost and sometimes maybe discourage.
Soil-Borne Issues: The type of soil and the soil composition is very necessary in crop growth as a poor soil quality may result in pH imbalance, poor nutrients, it cause soil-borne diseases like fungal or bacterial infections as well as hindering the growth and development of the crop root.
Human Error Humans are bound to make a mistake as such an improper planting of crops, irrigation or fertilization in the farm, can bring a damage to the crops, causing a stunts growth.
Mention 5 importance of nursery pots in plant early growth?
Early growth and development of plants is very important in agriculture, in order to have a proper growth of plants in a nursery pots, you have to look at the necessary factors such as draining holes, the size i.e the depth and width, the durability of the material and the ways for sterilization, the factors will help improve significantly for the early growth and development of the plant.
5 importance of nursery pots
Soil Quality Control: The quality of the soil while planting is very important, the benefit of a nursery pots is help in Regulating the soil pH and nutrients and preventing soil-borne diseases.
Development Of Root : The Nursery pots gives a conducive environment for the growth of young roots, allowing root formation to be healthy, gives a better nutrient for absorption and make the root system to be strong.
It's Optimize Growing Conditions: With Nursery pots, there's a great access for temperature to be regulated. It's will improve air circulation and provide adequate light exposure.
Good Water Management: Nursery pots has a good and better ways to get water levels controlled, such as reducing the risk of overwatering, supply adequate moisture and provide a proper drainage.
Briefly mention 3 differences between monocotyledon and dicotyledon plants
These question, took my mind back to secondary school days that i was taught that mono stands for one while dicot stands for two. In the differences, I will apply the knowledge here;
S/N | Monocotyledon | Dicotyledon |
---|---|---|
1 | Monocotyledon are found with Fibrous roots | Dicotyledon has Tap roots |
2 | They have Seed leaf only | They have many leaves |
3 | Monocotyledon is known to have Scattered vascular tissue | Dicot had Ring-shaped vascular tissue in them |
Name 5 examples of monocotyledon and dicotyledon plant
Example of monocotyledon
Zea may
Sugarcane
Rice
Bamboo
Wheat
Example of dicotyledon plant
Sunflower
Cucumber
Apple tree
Tomatoe
Oak tree
