TABLE MANNERS

Hello friends!!! I'm sure we have head and learned about table manners as we were growing up so it's not a new topic. Table manners are rules of behavior that govern how we carry ourselves while eating. This manners helps us to create respectful atmosphere during meals.

As a child, I was taught table manners in general but as I grow up, I came to realize that there are table manners before Mail during mail and after meals. So I'm going to break down my table manners into this three categories.

Table manners before meal

  1. Wash your hands before you eat.

  2. Place your napkin on your lap properly.

Table manners during meal

  1. Chew your food with your mouth close and avoid talking with a mouthful.

  2. Use your utensils correctly, your fork should be in your left hand while your knife is in your right hand.

  3. Pass dishes to the right and serve yourself last.

  4. Wait for everyone to receive their food before you start eating.

Table manners after meal

  1. Place your utensils on the plate with the handles facing inward after eating.

  2. Wait for everyone to finish eating before you leave the table.

  3. Say thank you to the person that gave you food and stand up.

MY VIEW ON TEACHING TABLE MANNERS

Teaching table manners to children is very important and should not be overlooked until they are grown. A child should be guided on proper table etiquette. When someone is grown, I think it will be difficult for the person to adjust to proper table manners if the person was not taught table manners earlier. The person will be disrespecting people taking actions that are not proper on a dinning table.

MY MOST TASKY TABLE MANNERS

One of the table manners I find very difficult to obey is the use of fork and knife🍴. I feel so awkward using fork using on my left hand and then using knife on my right hand. What happens to using spoon which I am so confontable with? why will I be suffering with fork to eat instead of spoon?😴

I am kind of used to fiddling with my phone while eating so I find it very difficult to observe the table manners that is related to not using your phone at the dinning table.

I want to lie, meal time for me is the best time to have a family discussion🤗. So it is very possible that I can chew my food without closing my mouth completely.

FOOD MENU AND ME

For me, it is best to avoid a meal on a menu that I cannot pronounce. Honestly, I would rather not risks mispronouncing the name and embarrassing myself in front of people. So if I come across a dish with a name that I am not familiar with or it is difficult to pronounce, I will rather choose to avoid it and opt for something else that I can comfortably order. I hope you enjoy my points. Thank you @ninapenda for this culinary contest.
