Hello friends!! Lets talk about internet speed in my country Nigeria. Internet speed has to do with the rate inwhich data is transmitted over the internet. It is measured in bits per second (bps) and usually express in megabits per second (Mbps).
Network speed can be affected by the distance between the network provider and the person that is using the network. It can also be affected by heavy internet usage in a particular area. The kind of device that you use can also determine how fast or slow your internet speed would be.
I am a Nigerian and my fellow Nigerians here would attest to the fact that internet speed in most areas in our country is quite slow. Internet speed in my country has been a subject of concern for many of us in this part of the world. Despite our country's independence, the internet speed still falls short of the global standard. My country's internet speed is around 8 to 20 mbps which is lower than the global average.
My country's internet infrastructure is still developing and many areas lack the access to high speed network. Another thing is that there is high demand for internet services and are internet service providers may still be using outdated technology which is making us to suffer this slow network services. My fellow glo subscribers can relate well.
I am interested in learning how to test my data speed but I must admit that I don't know where to start from. With the increasing importance of reliable internet services in my country, understanding how to major internet speed is essential. Knowing how to test speed can help me verify if my internet service provider is delivering the promised internet service.
The slow internet speed in my area has affected both my personal and professional life. It frustrates and causes inconvenience especially when I am trying to catch up with my favorite shows or movies, it has interrupted my video calls with family and friends.
Slow network is also a challenge for people that work remotely because it can cause them not to meet up deadlines or communicate with colleagues. Slow network can also lead to decreased job satisfaction or stand an obstacle in a daily lives.
I have plans of improving my internet speed by upgrading my router to make it more powerful so that it will support the latest Wi-Fi standards. I also plan to get a better modem that is compatible with my internet service provider and can support my devices.
In conclusion, I think the internet service providers also have a role to play by making sure they provide all the areas with quality internet services.
