[My Skill is My Power]

It's skill week guys, and as a Fashionista I'm proud that "My Skill is My Power".
I'll be glad sharing my skills on Fashion Designing and I hope you do enjoy it.

  • Sure! Guys Here’s my simple and very clear guide on how I sew a Vintage Short Sleeves Shirt, indeed broken down into five simple and easy steps.
Step 1: Measuring the Owner

First, as a fashion designer before embarking on creating admirable draft, it necessary to do this and i start by taking complete measurements and size of the owner of the dress. This i admit is super important to us because I genuinely want to make sure the shirt fits well and perfectly. I made use of my measuring tape to check all the different parts of the body, like the his chest, waist, neck, shoulder, full length, half length and arm length.

  • I use a plain sheet to write down all the numbers and specify them accordingly so I can remember them later. This really helps me know how much fabric I do need and how to cut it to shape.
Step 2: Gathering Materials

Next in my list, I needed to gather all the necessary materials for the sewing. This definitely includes the fabric which the owner provided, i now went hunting on the thread, i already had my scissors, pins, a Manual sewing machine, and the buttons. I make sure that I have everything ready before I could start the task.
"It’s like preparing and sharpening for a big adventure! If I probably forget something, it then might slow me down. So, I do well to double-check my list and get everything together."

Step 3: Drafting the Measurements and Cutting

[My Draft and Cut Designs]

Now, I move on to the Pattern Drafting aspect, drafting the measurements on the fabric. At this point 👉 it means Serve time to take my measurements and use them to draw the shape of the ideal shirt on the fabric. I made use of my fabric marker to make marks and dotted line where I need to cut.

  • This step is the art 🎭 aspect like drawing a picture of what I want my ideal shirt to look like! I also make sure to add in some extra space for the sewing so the shirt isn’t too tight on the body and as well for future purpose which might include loosing the shape to increase the length and size and then cut them out to pieces along the lines I drew.
Step 4: Sewing and Stitching

[Stitching on My Manual Buttery Sewing Machine]

After the First three steps been done, I have everything marked out and cut, it’s now the time to start sewing and stitching the pieces together. I carefully and practically take the front, back, and the sleeves of the shirt and pin them together. I then use the sewing machine to stitch them in their places.

It’s important to really go slowly and make sure everything lines up so nicely. I love watching the pieces all come together as I sew thereby giving a perfect shape. And mind you I was using double line stitch for my sewing as a professional.

Step 5: Final Touches

[My Finishing Touches and Look on Mirror]

  • Finally here, I added my final touches to my shirt. I first prepare the neck pattern by really cutting out the shape I want and according to my client neck size and then sew it to the shirt 👕. After that being done, I do a perfect and quality ironing to make sure that everything looks neat and much tidy. I also sew on the buttons to the shirt and Mark the holes spot which will help the shirt close.

Once I was done with all of that, I have to take a step back and really admire my work. "My vintage 👕 shirt is now ready for wear!"

Conclusion

In these unique five steps of mine, I’ve try so much in explaining how I make a Vintage Short Sleeves Shirt as one of my skills acquired in Fashion Designing. From measuring the owner to sewing to the final buttons, each part 〽️ is very important in crafting a beautiful piece of clothing. I really love sewing because its my passion and allows me to express my creativity.

I'm inviting @bossj23, @nsijoro and @kidi40 to join me let's unveil the power of our skill.
