  • In My country Nigeria, we don't actually have a "traditional winter" like it is in some other countries, but we do also have a much cooler season that many of us here call it the "Harmattan."

This very season usually happens mainly from the late November to the February of the next year. In Akwa Ibom State, the weather is indeed milder, with temperatures always ranging from about 20°C (68°F) to 30°C (86°F). It's definitely not too cold, but you can feel a unique nice breeze.

My take for Winters season?

With my full chest I say Yes, I really like the cooler weather! It's always refreshing and nice to enjoy the outdoor activities without really sweating too much and making the dress smells stuffy. While also In some different parts of Nigeria, like mostly the northern regions, the temperatures can drop so lower, sometimes even reaching around 15°C (59°F). In the southern areas, like here in Akwa Ibom, it's usually a warmer and more comfortable one.

Dresses for the Cozy Weather

Just like the foreigners putting on pullovers and gloves. During this cooler season, we the people in Nigeria wear a different clothes to help keep warm. In Akwa Ibom, you might mostly see people in a long-sleeved shirts, a light jackets, and probably a cardigans. Some also do wear the traditional clothing made of thicker materials. All these outfits not only keep us warm alone but also look really beautiful!

Our Special Dishes and Drinks

During these Harmattan season, we the indigenes do enjoy some special foods and drinks. Some of the popular dishes include a hot soups like the pepper soup, Ekpang, Mkpafere and Afang soup. People also drink some hot beverages like the tea, coffee, and mostly the local drinks made from corn or millet and Palm wines 🌴. All of these warm foods and the drinks help to keep us really cozy! and tense to be a culture for us.

My Season Skincare and Health Routine

Indeed When the weather gets really cooler, many people out there do change their skincare routines. It's definitely important to keep our skin all time moisturized, so I always use oily creams and lotions (Jimpo-Ori _ Head-to-Toe) to prevent any dryness. Drinking 🚰 of enough water is also very important to stay healthy.

Tourist Spots to Visit in Akwa Ibom

In my state Akwa Ibom located in the south south region of the country geopolitical zone, there are so many beautiful places to visit ❣️ during this season. I myself would love to give review of the Ibom Golf Resort, where we can all enjoy nature and also play golf. The Ibibio Museum, also a very interesting place because it shows our culture and it's history. Lastly, the Ibom Greenfield Park where great adventure to relax and have fun view with family and friends.
