I hope you are all doing well!
I have been inactive here for quite some time due to many reasons and the top ones are my health and internet issues. With the changing weather, I fell sick and on top of that the Wi-Fi was not working properly. But now i am back and i will try my best to stay active from today onwards. Let’s start what my day looked like.
As you all know we live in Karachi and we are not used to this cold weather. It’s been freezing (well by Karachi standards) making it really hard to leave the soft and warm blankets in the morning but i woke up at 6:30 am.
The real adventure started with ablution using cold water because like many Karachiites our geyser was not working due to gas problems. Honestly, it felt like a life challenge right there. I kept telling myself "If i survive this, i can survive anything!" (Karachi winters really know how to make us laugh and cry at the same time)
Once i was done i woke my sisters up and helped them get ready for school. It is a routine i cherish despite the chaos because watching them leave for school with sleepy faces always makes me smile. After they left i had my breakfast and decided to reward myself with a little nap.
Later in the afternoon we decided to go grocery shopping at Imtiaz. Grocery shopping at Imtiaz is more than just a task, it is like an event in our family. We left home at 3 pm and reached there by 3:30 pm.
First Stop: The First Floor
We started from the first floor where we came across some clothing items. It was nice to browse through the collection even though we didn’t buy anything from this section.
Then we moved to the handbag section and let me tell you the collection was absolutely stunning. There were so many beautiful designs that it was hard to choose. We admired them for quite some time before moving on.
Next we went to the skincare. From this section we picked up rosewater and a sunblock. Shopping for skincare always feels satisfying like you are investing in self-care.
Basement: Grocery Time
Afterward we go to the basement to stock up on monthly groceries. This is where the serious shopping happened. We bought essentials like lentils, tea, milk and other household staples. It is a bit of a task carrying all the items but it is worth it when the pantry is restocked.
On the the basement we also explored the crockery section. Here we found a beautiful glass set and couldn’t resist buying it. It was one of those purchases that make you feel happy every time you use it.
The Ground Floor: The Main Attraction
After spending two hours shopping downstairs we finally made our way to the ground floor. This is where the real happiness begans the bakery. Let's be honest grocery trips to Imtiaz are never complete without visiting the bakery.
We bought some brownies from here which smelled heavenly and tasted even better.
We also grabbed a salad which is one of Imtiaz’s specialties. If you haven’t tried it you are missing out. The freshness and flavor of their salad are unbeatable and it is something our family absolutely loves.
After finishing all the shopping we joined the long billing line.
Once we got done with billing, we headed home around 6:30 pm. By the time we reached we were all tired but satisfied. I treated myself to the delicious salad we bought and paired it with a refreshing Slice juice. It was the perfect way to end a busy day.
Grocery shopping may seem like an ordinary chore but for me it is always an experience to cherish. From spending time with family to discovering new items and enjoying little treats. It’s these small moments that makes life beautiful.
