The Heart of the Train

The clatter of the train... A muffled sound, resembling the beats of a heart... Knock-knock, knock-knock... Knock-knock, knock-knock...
And the faster the train goes, the quicker its rhythm accelerates, like the pulse of a running person. I have heard this clatter many times.

People living in Europe and the USA may have never heard it. But those residing in the territory of the former Soviet Union, and perhaps in some other countries, still hear this sound during train rides on railways.

In developed countries, the technology of seamless rails is mostly used. As far as I understand from the internet, they lay the rails, weld them together, and align them in a way that there are almost no joints left. In my country, for example, when laying rails, they fasten them with bolts, leaving joints that create this clattering sound.

Of course, this is an outdated technology, but I enjoy hearing this sound. As long as it exists, I know that the heart of the train is still beating.
