Biography of the Prophet ﷺ
PART :- 1...
Arab Location and Nations
The biography of the Prophet ﷺ is actually the practical manifestation (shadow, reflection, light) of this divine message, which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ presented to the human community.
And through which man was taken out of darkness into light and out of the servitude of servants into the servitude of Allah.
Since the complete description of this virtuous biography is not possible unless the conditions before and after the revelation of this divine message are compared, therefore, before the main discussion, in the chapter under consideration, an outline of the conditions in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sent is being presented by describing the Arab nations before Islam and their development.
Location of Arabia
The literal meaning of the word Arab is desert and land without water and vegetation. Since ancient times, this word has been used to refer to the Arabian Peninsula and the peoples living on it. To the west of Arabia is the Red Sea and the Sinai Peninsula.
To the east is the Arabian Gulf and a large part of southern Iraq. To the south is the Arabian Sea, which is actually an extension of the Indian Ocean. Syria includes the country of Syria and some northern Iraq. There is also disagreement about some of these borders. The total area has been estimated to be from one million to one and a half million square miles.
The Arabian Peninsula is of great importance from a physical and geographical point of view. Internally, it is surrounded by desert and wilderness on all four sides, thanks to which it has become such a secure fortress that it is very difficult for outside nations to occupy it and spread their influence and influence.
This is why the inhabitants of the heart of the Arabian Peninsula have been completely independent and autonomous in all their affairs since ancient times, although they were neighbors of two such great powers that if it were not for this solid natural barrier, it would not have been a matter for the inhabitants of Arabia to stop their attacks.
Externally, the Arabian Peninsula is located in the middle of all the known continents of the Old World and is connected to them by both land and sea routes. Its northwestern corner is the gateway to the continent of Africa. Its northeastern corner is the key to Europe. Its eastern corner opens the doors to Iran, Central Asia and the Far East, and leads to India and China.
Similarly, every continent is also connected to the Arabian Peninsula by sea routes and their ships anchor directly at Arab ports.
Due to this geographical location, the northern and southern corners of the Arabian Peninsula have been the centers of attraction for different nations and the center of exchange of trade, culture, arts and religions.
