How does food security affect public health?
When it actually comes to food security, I want to establish that it have a lot of impact whether positively or negatively on the public health because food security always have a way of influencing the nutrition and even the disease prevention most especially the overall wellbeing in the public. There are a lot of ways that food security actually affects public health which I will just mention a few of them below;
- Nutritional Sufficiency: The first is the Nutritional Sufficiency. food security can give Optimus access to food that is nutritious for a good healthy lifestyle as it is very important and needed.
- Undernutrition: I will like to talk about the negative impact if the food security is not achievable. It can lead to Undernutrition working in formmof stunted growth and also a whole lot more. It can even give access to diseases.
- Maternal and Child Health: It can also lead to the Maternal and the child health in the society. Most especially when there is a food insecurity during the pregnancy, it can affect the maternal health negatively and in fact at the end of the day affect the child because they will not have access to correct and needed nutrition.
What role do government policies play in food security?
I will like to establish that Government Policies can really go a long way to make sure that food security is established if they can put in some great measures that will allow the people to have access to safe and food that are nutritious. The first is by government focusing on the agricultural development. Agricultural development will go a long way to help support programs and even beyond the more.
The other aspect I strongly believe that government can work upon is the food distribution and accessibility aspect. There are still some part of the country and regions that are starving and that is because there is no accessibility of food to them. Government can come up with policy to help in that.
How does climate change threaten food security?
One of the factor that also affect food security is the climate change and most of us always wonder how do that affect it. Well I will be explaining in details. Climate change can be a threat to the point whereby it can affect the agricultural systems and even affect the crop yields much more. It can affect the availability of food.
Climate change most of the time can affect the Agricultural productivity to the point whereby it reduces it. This can happen due to weather events that might happen like droughts, floods and even storms. All these things can affect the agricultural productivity at the end of the day. It can even at the end of the day cause water scarcity most especially in periods of dry season.
Can community gardens improve food security and health? Explain
Well I will say community leaders can actually play a very significant role to help improve the food security and also health in diverse ways below;
- Increased Access to Fresh and Nutritious Food: This will be the first. I believe community gardens can work to give fresh food, fruit and even vegetables for people in areas whereby healthy food is limited. This can deal with malnutrition at the end of the day.
- Reduced Food Costs: The second one I will like to talk about is the aspect of helping to reduce cost. Cost in the sense that it can help community gardens to deal with the issue whereby there is heavy dependency on grocery store purchases and much more.
- Improved Physical and Mental Health: The last one I will now talk about is the aspect of the Helping to improve both the physical and the mental health beyond what we can ever imagine of actually.
How do cultural factors influence food choices?
Yes, I strongly believe cultural factors can help to influence the food choices and these are the ways below;
- Traditional and Religious Practices: The first is through the Traditional and the Religious practices much more. It helps to deal with food restrictions and even beyond more. It helps to deal with cultures that are negative most especially the vegetarianism that needs to be looked into actually.
- Regional and Historical Influences: Cultural Factors can also play it's role in the aspect of the Regional and the Historical Influence also which might include the climate and the geography. It can also be in the aspect of the historical interactions Much more also.
- Social Norms and Values: I will finally like to establish that There is a need for the social norms and values in the aspect of the family traditions and also in the aspect of the cultural identity at the end of the day.
