Introduction

In this present world we find ourselves where everything has been digitalised, we need to understand that data have become a major tool and asset that should not joke with. In fact, I will say data deals with every sector of the world ranging from health, finances and even many more. It is looking like majority of our lifestyle on the digital world is been made up of data. Truth be told, data is also getting quite compromised as the day goes by because the integrity of data are been tampered with.

Several factors are fighting against the integrity of data ranging from fraud, ranging from the constant cyber attacks and many more. Among all these challenges that the world of data is facing, the innovation of the Blockchain technology has come to the full potential to settle the issue and brings the needed solution. The Blockchain technology which is immutable in nature is helping to sustain the data integrity and that is making use of some certain basic principles that is needed for effective data management.

Understanding Blockchain and Data Integrity

We need to come to a point whereby both Blockchain and data connect together and that is why we need to understand Blockchain and data integrity. Blockchain world does not need any introduction any longer as many of us is aware the nature that it operate on majorly which is the nature of Decentralisation and immutability. The fact that every transaction carried out on the Blockchain cannot easily be altered or changed makes it resistant to be manipulated.

When I talk about the data integrity I keep referring to, it means the accuracy and reliability of the set of data collected over a period of time. There is a need to maintain data integrity along the data management as that is what will make it a more valuable tool. In situations like financial transactions, healthcare management and even Identity verification, there is a need for utmost data integrity so that all work can be carried out effectively.

There are a whole lot of features which I have seen that mades it easy for the Blockchain technology to be able to sustain the data integrity nature when it comes to data management. First of all is the Immutability feature which I have said earlier. Immutability feature of the Blockchain space makes it hard for data to be altered as far as they are recorded. We have the Decentralisation feature also.

Cryptographic Validation

Talking about the aspect of cryptographic validation in the aspect is the fact that every block that is been recorded on the Blockchain is made up of the Cryptographic hash that helps to give a digital fingerprint of the data much more. There is a need for the cryptographic validation because it actually goes a long way to maintain the data integrity and immutability.

Talking about the Decentralisation and the consensus mechanisms that the Blockchain world possesses, it makes it to stand out also because as the Blockchain operate on a Decentralised network, it makes it easy for more nodes to take place without not depending on the centralised authority. Not only that I strongly believe that the Decentralised structure helps the data to be protected because it find it difficult to manipulate the data and actually sustain the data integrity over a long period of time.

Applications of Blockchain for Data Integrity
Financial Transactions

When we talk about the application of the Blockchain space to the data integrity sustainability, I will like to say it is numerous. The first I will like to make mention of certainly will be the healthcare Records. The Blockchain world keeps transforming the health care sector by helping to keep the patient data secured and safe and not only that but always makes sure that every data collected medically is accurate and also unaltered. This helps to rescue errors most especially in a very critical healthcare decision.

The second aspect I will like to talk about is the supply chain management. The Decentralisation nature of the Blockchain technology makes it easy to sustain transparency that will be achieved so that every product can be authenticatwd. Let me use the example of the food industry as it makes it easy for the Blockchain world to be able to track and get the most verified information much better. I will also like to add the aspect of the digital identity verification as it helps to protect digital identities and helps to prevent it from being compromised.

Conclusion

As I conclude, I will like to establish that Blockchain technology have come to change and will continue to transform a lot of sector around most especially making use that data management is getting better day by day making use of its strong features that it possesses.
