Hello friends, Democracy is a system of governance where the people elect their representatives and participate in deciding the policy of the question. The point is that the people hold all the power. International Democracy Day is celebrated on 15 September and is a day recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.

What do you know about the day? (Make sure you mention the actual date)

I didn't know that September 15 is International Democracy Day. I came to know about this day since a political party in my country fought for democracy and held movements and various programs to bring back democracy. Democracy means that every people in a country will have equal rights and the people will elect representatives through their votes which will empower them. The core objectives of democracy are bound to ensure fair elections, rule of law, and the fulfillment of fundamental human rights. This day is to raise awareness about democracy by informing people and promoting its basic principles.

Suggest and draw a mascot to represent the day.

The supreme example of democracy is the right of the people to vote

Give a brief description of your mascot.

The main function of democracy in my country is to establish the right of people to vote. Each people forms the government by giving its own vote to the representative of its choice. People want a voting system to elect a representative they like and trust. The people of my country were disenfranchised for 15 years which brought down that fascist government through the student movement. Hopefully we can vote for the next election.

What change do you think this day brought about in your community?

This day has played a great role in the restoration of democracy in my country. The people were fed up with the government and brought back democracy by overthrowing the dictatorial government through the movement and this is believed by all the people of Bangladesh. I think the people of Bangladesh are getting their basic rights back and can taste freedom. Nin's freedom of speech has been restored.

Who are the active promoters, and what do you think could be added to make more of an impact in your community?

The main promoter of International Democracy Day is the United Nations. This day is promoted by the United Nations and other countries. I think as a citizen of a country there should be many seminars on what democracy is and how it works for the people. Needs to be included in detail in school text books. There is a need to increase awareness of democracy through media and campaign in remote areas.

I invite you @sumayaorin @inspiracion @paholags to participate in this contest.
