Fruit Fly on Vegetation Plant (Tephritidae)

abduhawab -

This fly is from the family of Tephritidae under genus of Procecidochares that is often seen visiting flowers or vegetation spots. I found this fly around the hill a little while ago. I only spotted this single fly flying here and there, running away by the time it sensed something approach. Besides, it is a tiny insect, moving fast was another problem to take a shot with a smartphone. So things had been learned, when I faced such a situation, I had to allow myself away while keeping eyes on the subject which I believe, most of the insects would come back to the spot where it first touched. Right! Not long after that, it came back with careful moves. There I carefully approached while aiming the camera toward its face. Mission accomplished, I was finally able to get a couple of pictures of this slim fly. This kind of fly has shiny black color of thorax and abdomen. On the thorax is grown with some obvious white hairs.
